About Deborah

I help organisations, leaders and high-performing professionals build resilience, sustain performance and navigate challenge and change.

As a Certified Resilience Consultant, Trainer and Speaker, I combine resilience science, wellbeing and practical experience gained through more than 20 years working in high-pressure international environments.

Based in London, I work internationally through consulting, training, workshops and speaking engagements.

Why resilience matters to me

For more than 20 years I worked in international documentary filmmaking, coordinating complex productions across the globe.

I filmed with Sir David Attenborough in the Galapagos, coordinated Ben Affleck's visits to Sudan and Darfur for UNHCR, joined director Davis Guggenheim to film Malala Yousafzai ahead of her UN speech, worked at Shell International in Houston and London, and spent years managing talent, crews and logistics under pressured deadlines.

I worked in environments where performance, adaptability and resilience mattered every day. Those experiences showed me both what sustainable performance really requires. It also showed me the consequences of chronic stress, fatigue and burnout when resilience, recovery and wellbeing are neglected.

So I started studying. Throughout my career I kept returning to nutrition science, eventually completing an MSc (Honours) in Holistic Nutrition. When I discovered the Resilience Institute's evidence-based framework, it brought together many of the principles I had been exploring throughout my career. It deepened my understanding of how resilience is influenced by the interplay of mental, emotional and physical wellbeing, and provided a practical, evidence-based approach to supporting sustainable performance.

I Certified as a Resilience Consultant, helping organisations, leaders and high-performing professionals build resilience, improve wellbeing, manage stress and sustain performance. I work with organisations seeking to improve workplace wellbeing, leadership resilience, employee engagement and sustainable high performance.

Film making taught many skills. Dealing with complexity, people, the time pressure, the performance demands, operating in geopolitical landscapes, story-telling, team management and building, along with cultural negotiations and situational agility, or thinking on your feet.
